Due to growth of our Customs Brokerage Team in Rotterdam we are recruiting a customer focused, innovative, commercial and result driven:

Sales Representative Customs

De Sales Representative Customs is hierarchically placed under the Deputy Director Customs Brokerage. Focus of the job is maintaining customer contact and supporting commercial activities for the Customs Brokerage department. Recruiting new relationships or realizing growth with existing relationships and managing customers for this purpose.

Result areas

  1. Realizing new CB-business;

Result: to realize new CB- business in such a way that the objectives are met within the preconditions and are implemented efficiently.

Identifies and follows up potential customers for the CB products.

Informing and providing information to potential customers about developments in the market and specifically about the CB products of our organization.

Coordinates its own client portfolio.

Assist business Development with the preparation of RFQ’s and realization of the contract.

Together with the Director Customs Brokerage taking care of quotes and drafting contracts with both existing and new customers.

Perform and answer tenders together with the (Deputy) Director Customs Brokerage.

  • Relationship management;

Building up and maintaining a good relationship with operational representatives of existing as well as new customers and suppliers, such that new business activities can be realized.

  • Records agreements made.

Identifies deviations from the standard at the customer and initiates actions.

Increases revenue on desired products from existing customers in accordance with guidelines.

  • Quotation handling and monitoring records;

Monitoring the quotation handling and the solution offered in the event of any bottlenecks.

Indicates timely expiry of contracts and ensures extension and where necessary revision of contracts and / or price agreements with customers.

  • Keeping records;

Keeping the administration of customers, offers and competitors up-to-date and transparent.

Creates customer files and keeps them up to date.

Provide [Sales] information about sales progress and development through statistics and key and control numbers to management.

Reports to managers and, in accordance with established guidelines, records information about the progress and results of sales  visits and the actions to be taken.

Monitoring and reporting of the KPI’s.

Job requirements

Relevant MBO training in commercial or logistical direction;

Knowledge of Customs.

Knowledge of sales techniques.

Experience 2 – 3 years

Willingness to travel

Oral and written proficiency in both Dutch and English

Negotiating skills and being able to arouse interest in contacts with (potential) clients.

Social skills for maintaining internal and external contacts and giving presentations / conducting sales conversations with small to medium-sized clients at management level.
